Questions about empty-leg alerts

Everything you need to know before setting up your first alert.

When a private jet is booked one-way, it must still fly back to base or reposition for its next mission. That return or repositioning segment is called an "empty leg." Because the aircraft is already scheduled to fly, operators sell those seats at a steep discount — typically 30-70% off the standard charter rate.

Yes. Setting up route alerts and receiving notifications is completely free. You only pay if you choose to book a flight that matches your alert criteria. There are no subscription fees, no credit card required, and no commitment.

The fastest empty legs can book within 30-90 minutes of posting. We recommend enabling SMS alerts and keeping your phone nearby during business hours. Replying with a simple "Yes, hold it" is usually enough to start the booking process while you confirm details.

Absolutely. You can set preferences for light jets, midsize jets, super-midsize, or heavy jets. You can also select "Any Size" if you are flexible and want to maximize the number of alerts you receive. Filters can be updated at any time.

Empty-leg bookings are generally non-refundable because the aircraft is already committed to a fixed route and time. However, if you need to adjust within 24 hours of booking, our advisors will attempt to find a replacement or shift you to a similar leg if one exists. We always review the cancellation terms with you before confirmation.

Our primary alert network covers North America, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Select international repositioning legs — especially between major hubs in Europe and the Middle East — are also available through our partner network. Contact our team for specific routes outside North America.
